Aswan Day Tour — Philae Temple, High Dam, and Unfinished Obelisk

Overview

This one-day tour explores the main attractions of Aswan. The tour begins at the Aswan High Dam, completed in 1970 and a major feat of 20th-century engineering. From there, a short motorboat ride transports guests to Agilkia Island to visit the Philae Temple complex, originally dedicated to the goddess Isis and relocated stone by stone by UNESCO to save it from rising floodwaters. The final stop is the Unfinished Obelisk in the ancient granite quarries, still partially attached to the bedrock and offering insight into ancient stone-cutting methods.
